Update
We last spoke with the Riddells Creek community about the land south of the railway line in 2023.
Our most recent engagement with the community was via information sessions both in person and online in October 2026 to share updates on what has happened since 2023 and outline the next steps for the project. The project is still in the early stages of planning and involves four main steps:
- Preparing a Framework Plan
- Seeking changes to the Planning Scheme
- Preparing a more detailed Development Plan
- Seeking planning permits.
We are currently preparing for Step 2, which involves seeking a planning scheme amendment to rezone the land to a Neighbourhood Residential Zone.
A high-level Framework Plan has been developed to guide future approval phases. The Framework Plan has been informed by community feedback and updated technical studies and provides a high-level framework for future project phases.

Feedback from the 2022 and 2023 engagement continues to inform planning for the proposal.

The ‘Response to community feedback report’ aimed to respond to community aspirations for the land, as heard during Phase One engagement in 2022. It includes a Draft Response Plan, visions statement for the site and draft street cross sections.
